Four, 2-hour workshops designed to give beginners a jump start by reviewing the fundamentals of vinyasa yoga practice, i.e. correct breathing, 3 body locks (bandha), and the theory and practice of drishti. We will break down the 10-step Sun Salutation A, 18-step Sun Salutation B, and 12-step Classical Sun Salutation along with the alignment and modifications for each posture. We will end the 4 week series with dissecting "open and closed-hip" standing postures, such as crescent, warrior 1 and 2, side angle, triangle, and revolving side angle and triangle. We will introduce some applicable anatomy, integrated philosophy and Sanskrit. Whether you are brand new to the practice or have been doing this for years, this series will undoubtedly take your practice to the next level! Space is limited to 12. Bring your own mat and water. Props will be provided. Yoga Alliance CE available. I'm teaching a day intensive in Norman, Oklahoma May - Hosting Andrew Eppler for Day Intensive WORKSHOP FULL Con, my student of 8 years performing bakasana b (crow with straight arms) I'm super excited about our upcoming arm balance and handstand series! Let's use this board to communicate and share along the way. If you have any questions or requests, please comment below! If you're new to my shala (yoga school), I'm at 3922 Saint Christopher Lane, Dallas TX 75287, duplex entrance on the right. We begin at 6:30pm sharp. Doors open at 6pm. See you soon! Week 1 - Foundations of arm balancing and what to do to get there faster + Basic arm balancing postures Week 2 - Jedi warm ups and handstands Week 3 - Handstands and other arm balancing postures I had an idea to use this blog to communicate since not everyone who's signed up on for the workshop is on social media, and I want to respect your email privacy. I am beginning to reduce my social media consumption as well, and I did it by deleting the IG app from my phone. I am being more present and it's been wonderful!
If you are attending the class this weekend, please comment with what you want to work on or have questions about and I'll create an informative and challenging practice for all of us. pranamami (i bow) Ricky Tran |
