NEED ONE-ON-ONE ATTENTION?

In ancient times, yoga was taught one-on-one. Ideally, the yoga experience of each student is individualized. Today, a private session allows a more intimate personal experience. You can begin a new practice, deepen your practice or spend time working with an injury or condition. Working with a  teacher one on one, you can experience the benefits of yoga in a safe, personal way.

Private Yoga is an invaluable tool for students of all levels and experience. Private lessons provide the perfect setting to address your goals and work on areas of individual interest. Private Yoga can help you deepen your practice, gain confidence, answer questions and provide guidance. We can help you develop a home practice tailored to your individual needs.

Why private yoga?

For new students
  • Therapy and personalized approach to healing.
  • You may be intimidated by the public classroom environment.
  • Teacher can focus on you and make sure you are getting off to an appropriate start.
  • Private yoga instruction can help you integrate into our public classes.
  • We can also provide one-on-one classes with your teacher on an ongoing basis.

For more experienced students
  • Gain deeper insight into specific postures or categories of postures
  • Refine posture alignment and modifications
  • Learn and integrate yoga philosophy

Testimonial

I have occasionally thought about getting a private yoga session, but had never been inspired to do so, until going to an introduction to a weekend intensive with Ricky Tran. His sense of humor, and genuineness struck me first. His knowledge and experience was also apparent. I decided to take the opportunity to have a private lesson with him. The experience was much more than I expected. He gave me tools to take home that I could use to improve pain I had been experiencing in my back. He also "flew me," using therapeutic flying, which was fun and felt amazing! I have been going to a chiropractor for two months, experiencing some improvement, but what Ricky gave me, that I was not able to get from the chiropractor, were tools to take home. I came away with sound philosophy, movement, a way of thinking, and most importantly inspiration and confidence to carry through. Honestly, my mind, body and soul were nourished.

Thank you Ricky.

Picture
Srivatsa Ramaswami, one-on-one student of T Krishnamacharya for 33 years. He is the teacher whom I have learned the most about yoga. He's taught me Krishnamacharya's Vinyasa Krama (asana, vinyasa, pranayama), direct translation of ancient texts, e.g. Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita, Samkhya Karika, just to name a few. I have learned a tremendous amount of Sanskrit through this master's blessings.

Original Ashtanga Yogis David Swenson, David Williams, (Ricky Tran) and Danny Paradise @Ashtanga Mela 2010. These first generation Ashtangis showed me by example how one can continue to practice yoga for the rest of your life.

The Amazing Kumar Pallana, actor, performer, comedian, yogi, taught me that no matter the age of the student, everyone must be taught to laugh and breathe.
Picture
Sri Dharma Mitra, circa 2009 taught me about ahimsa and devotion. The master reminds us that the goal of yoga is Self-Realization. He is as his name implies, a friend to all.

Inspired by Bryan Kest Power Yoga, through Suze Curtis, my first yoga teacher. Learn to be comfortable when uncomfortable. Listen. Respond vs. React.
