I started working with Ricky about ten years ago when back pain, depression, and anxiety started overshadowing my life. I had taken yoga classes before studying with Ricky but never really understood the practice. Ricky is very intentional about his teachings and helped me become aware of my breathing. The yoga breathing I learned in his class is a tool I still use every day to help focus my mind, lower my heart rate, and reduce my tension. I believe this is a main reason I have not had a panic attack in ten years. Working with Ricky helped changed the course of my life, and I am truly flourishing now and living my dream as a critical care nurse. Thank you Ricky for your dedication to improving lives through yoga.

I had an incredible workshop, outdoor pop-up, and yoga sleepover experience, all led by Ricky Tran.
Before that, I had only heard praises for his teaching style and respect for his expertise. It wasn't until The Art of Intuition and Discernment workshop (Jan 2024) that I grasped the depth of his knowledge and passion for yoga.
Ricky’s insights resonated with me spiritually and inspired me to explore yoga philosophy more deeply. His teachings highlighted the significance of calming the mind and emphasized that yoga postures represent only a small part of true yoga practice. These nuggets will undoubtedly guide me on my lifetime journey.
His great understanding of energy flow, anatomy, and pranayama allows him to lead students into proper postures, prime us for meditation, and, sometimes, let go of pent-up emotions.
I was amazed to watch him assist one student in conquering mistrust while simultaneously guiding another to overcome a limiting belief. Some students even found emotional release through his touch or guided lessons. Witnessing these healing breakthroughs was so impactful.
I feel blessed to have connected with such a talented teacher, especially one who can simplify intricate concepts for practitioners at every level. If you're seeking a mentor who can guide you with clarity and compassion, look no further… Ricky is the real deal!

I recently attended an incredible yoga retreat that was not only a safe space for evolving my practice but also a nurturing space for personal growth. Everyone there was exceptionally welcoming, creating a warm and supportive community. Our instructor, Ricky, was a true gem. His deep knowledge of yoga, both the philosophy and the physical practice, was evident. Ricky has this amazing ability to distill complex concepts into understandable lessons, regardless of where you are on your yoga journey. It was an experience that left me feeling more connected and inspired than ever!

I had the privilege of attending one of Ricky's 2 day retreats. I had never taken any of his classes before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was going for a healing weekend.
Ricky was so down to earth and welcoming. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned yogi, he helps develop you from where you're at. His wisdom from all of his years of studying combined with his passion for sharing the gift of yoga shows in everything he does.
I was able to try a new asana (pose) that I would mavs never attempted before had he not created the environment to make them. He really took the time to make sure we were listening to our bodies and doing the poses in the healthiest way possible.
What a gift he is and his vision is to the yoga world!

I went to Ricky’s overnight yoga retreat and had an amazing time of learning and practice. I have been doing some at home yoga videos for several months but had never had any professional guidance. Ricky identified areas of improvement in even the most basic poses. I felt like I learned the right way to do yoga and meditate. I came to this retreat because I knew yoga would help wellness of mind and body. We learned a great deal about keeping the mind and body healthy and I have a new motivation for complete wellness and a lot of new tips and tools in my belt for getting out of a negative head space. I have a background in nursing and I was very impressed by Ricky’s medical knowledge and ability to quickly identify areas in the body in need of attention. I will definitely be looking forward to what Ricky has to offer in the near and more distant future. Great things to come.

I had the opportunity to attend Ricky Tran's weekend yoga retreat in Dallas, Texas at the Springhill retreat center. I have been practicing yoga for over half a year and am on the course to becoming a yoga instructor. I had met Ricky only once before attending the retreat. In that one meeting he showed me, a complete stranger, a posture that alleviated a large amount of strain in my upper back. For that I was incredibly grateful and knew that I had to seek to find. I found exactly what I was looking for at the weekend retreat. We dove deep into asana, pranayama, and meditation practices. Ricky bestowing upon us knowledge that only the best of teachers can communicate. Knowledge that one must be shown to understand and told to comprehend. Along with the extensive practice, Ricky gave a profound lecture on yoga philosophy that will last me a lifetime. It is very difficult to take complex ideas and put them into words that children can understand. That is exactly what Ricky did with his simple explanations of large ideas in yoga philosophy. I am incredibly grateful to Ricky for the knowledge I gained and for the memories I made. If you are wanting to find yourself feeling mentally, physically, and spiritually refreshed, seek Ricky Tran!

I had a wonderful yoga experience at Ricky’s yoga sleepover. It felt like I was learning from an Indian monk!He dispels the “I can’t” expectation of the practitioner and asks poignant questions to guide them through a practice. In the past my wrists were hurting during downward-dog. Ricky repositioned my hands and wrist so it didn’t hurt anymore. He did this with anyone gave him feedback of pain. He removed obstacles of what we were feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally.
My favorite was chanting in Sanskrit and meditating. Once I got over myself in feeling embarrassed, I joined the Ohms & chants. All the voices became one and sounded so beautiful. My meditation game went to a new level and now I have tools to recreate that experience.
Honestly, I can’t say enough, but mouna tells me to end it here. You gotta experience it to know how transformative it is.

Attending a yoga training to study under my mentor Shanti Nolen, I was surprised when Ricky Tran stepped in.
Despite my initial doubts, Ricky's profound grasp of mind, body, and spirit quickly won me over. His guidance led me to discover healing and a deeper connection to my body, enriching my practice as a yoga instructor.
Throughout the weekend, Ricky's intuitive adjustments and extensive knowledge created a nurturing space tailored to each individual.
His ability to tune into the energy of the room left us all in awe.

As a yoga teacher trainer and yoga studio owner, I was looking for an opportunity to treat my colleagues and employees to a weekend of team building, teacher development training, and business development discussions.
I reached out to Ricky, who has extensive experience and expertise in all of these areas to come facilitate a weekend workshop at my studio for my team and I.
Personally, this was extremely nourishing for me to be a student alongside those I trained. Sometimes it gets exhausting always being the leader. And it is also invaluable to my students to see me as a student as well.
As always, Ricky brought 110% to the table. He led us through a fun and playful inversion practice on Friday night that both challenged and inspired all of us. Saturday morning, he led us through a unique asana sequence and pranayama practice, after which we had group discussion about the techniques he implemented during the class. Saturday afternoon was filled with hands-on adjustments and exploration for assisted stretching in different yoga poses. It was not only fun and playful, but provided us with techniques we can immediately implement in our classes to enhance the students experience at our studio.
Sunday morning, Ricky led us through another invigorating and challenging asana and pranayama sequence, after which we immediately did a series of cold plunges.
All I can say is Wow! That was amazing!
Sunday afternoon we blocked off time for group discussion and insight into ways to help improve conversion rates of first time students into memberships and ways to help improve retention of members, so that our studio and community can thrive more fully.
The level of in-depth personal practice, and teacher training techniques and exercises that Ricky led us through definitely required a day to integrate afterwards. Each of us walked away inspired and re-invigorated not only for our personal practice, but also enthusiastic about growing our studio as a team.
I look forward to having Ricky come back regularly to continue to inspire and support our yoga community and personal practice!
He is a selfless, enthusiastic and experienced teacher who has the ability to lead even the most advanced practitioners to new depths. I couldn’t be more grateful!

At 45, I developed a very sharp pain in my left foot around the heel, (perhaps plantar fasciitis) which got worse over the course of a few months until I had a noticeable limp and wincing pain everyday. Friends were always asking me what's wrong because they could see the pain on my face. I went to my physical therapist 3 times and spent hundreds of dollars to no effect, and resigned myself to pain and limited mobility, which lasted for almost two years.
Eventually I scheduled an MRI and nerve test with an orthopedic doctor, but I found Ricky before I got those tests done. I only spent a few minutes in consultation with him, but in that short time he asked me a few questions, put his hand on my foot, breathed for a moment, looked at some of my movement patterns, then explained what he thought was going on. He recommended a seemingly subtle change in my movement pattern and how I use my feet, but over the course of the next few weeks the pain diminished significantly.
Two months later I am doing so much better. I can run pain-free and practice martial arts again for the first time in a couple of years, and I cancelled the expensive MRI.
Thank you, Mr. Tran!

Ricky Tran. What a pleasant surprise.
By way of background, I had developed a prejudice over the decades in favor traditional medicine and the scientific method. I introduced myself to Ricky at TrueNorth Health as he was someone I'd seen around but not met. He was modest in his introduction. There was no mention of Yoga or his professional activities.
It wasn't until someone invited me to a group Yoga session in his suite that the package unwrapped. It was my first impression of him as a person that led me to accept the invittation. What I was then exposed to was presented with an unintentional air of professionalism and therefore credibility. Without intent on Ricky's part, I was in a position to set aside prejudices be they conscious or unconscious. Ricky showed us the research-demonstrated correlation between sound (music and therefore chants) and the body's cells. He introduced me to grounding. Soon after, I watched earthing. com's documentary film, was compelled by the body of research it presented, and ordered the grounding equipment. Ricky: "Grounding comes with no incremental time commitment if you have the tools." Ricky freely-giving style is to present with humility. His teaching and mentoring inevitably hint of vast experience gleaned through full commitment. One quickly gets the impression that whatever fees associated with experiences he provides are secondary to his commitment to serve his fellow beings.
Ricky opens his sessions with what translates to "I honor you."
Particularly memorable teachings:
"The mind is more difficult to control than the wind. But if you can control your breath, you can control your mind, according to the yogis."
"The joy is in the journey, not the destination. There is nowhere else to be but here and now. How many people overlook their lives because they are somewhere else?" A patient in a prior TrueNorth episode had gifted and mailed me Ram Dass' book Be Here Now. Due to my interaction with Ricky, I moved that book up from priority to eventually read it in retirement, to an immediate read I would pursue via Kindle during my current TrueNorth episode.
"If your elbow hurts, you are not your elbow, any more than you are your clothes or your body for that matter. Figure out who you are beyond your mind-body complex. First you have to quiet the mind so you can see what lies beyond--the journey beyond perception. Because what you perceive may not be what is real."
"Creating space--space between thoughts, space between joints. Your consciousness and awareness exists behind your mind. If there is no space between your thoughts for you to inhabit, you can't experience who you really are."
Ricky is a being of shocking accomplishment and influence given his apparent young age. His recommendations page sports numerous tenured Yoga instructions that look to Ricky for inservice.
I look forward to taking in his three-day beginners Dallas workshop at some point.

Ricky Tran is the most amazing spiritual teacher. A truly evolved soul that knows no bounds and is a shining light paving the way to enlightenment.
His mantras and teachings are incredibly relaxing and health giving. He calms minds and returns us all to the true meaning and purpose of life.
I thank him for the spiritual gifts he gave at Christmas time to many fortunate people who had the pleasure of meeting and talking with him at True North Health Center, Santa Rosa, California in December 2023

Revel in a Yoga Revolution
Ricky Tran’s 9-month Continuing Education Training 2023 changed everything for me. Without realizing it at first, it was actually nearly everything that I was looking for in a training. My name is Pete. I have been practicing yoga for 12 years, and teaching for 7. I have a couple of certifications in Hatha and Vinyasa, and have taught in the US Southwest, Mexico, and Peru. I had long been down the western route of asana and pranayama, and had read some books on yoga philosophy. However, a lot of the certifications and modalities that I had experienced felt somewhat peripheral, like I was still lacking in some foundation. I perhaps subconsciously attempted to compensate for this with s strong regular practice, both personal and in the studio, on and off the mat, etc. I have always been a student first, and for some time had been low key keeping another training on my radar. And so it was within this context that Ricky’s training presented itself.
Several things stand out about Ricky and the teachings that he passes down. His lineage is profound and perhaps rare. Directly learning from one of Krishnamacharya’s students, Srivatsa Ramaswami, and from such students of Pattabhi Jois as David Williams and David Swenson, and many more, Ricky’s knowledge of Ashtanga, Vinyasa Krama, and yoga philosophy comes close to some of the original yogis of the 19th and 20th centuries. With seemingly near photographic memory, Ricky’s recall of the Yoga Sutras and so many stories from both the ancient world and the modern is extremely detailed, comprehensive, and informative.
Ricky’s approach to yoga practice and philosophy have laid a solid foundation for me, and have expanded my goals far beyond my earlier horizons. My daily practice is completely revolutionized and often full of new insight. My body, mind, and nervous system feel sharper and stronger than ever. I am far from samadhi, but it feels reassuring to be thoroughly exposed to the traditions and bodies of knowledge that can provide the guidance to attaining such. One training to rule them all may sound like hyperbole, but again this training was so much that I was looking for in terms of physical practice, inner discipline, meditation, and philosophy, all combined into one package. I am eternally grateful for Ricky and the devoted compassion and benevolence that he has extended to me and all of his students.

Ricky is a pure pleasure to be around. His knowledge and wisdom are worth so much. I met him while trying to heal from Lyme disease at TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, CA. I became groggy in the morning and he taught me breathing exercises to wake up without caffeine! I also learned the importance of a meaningful yoga practice. He was also so kind to hold chanting sessions while he played and it was truly amazing and made me feel at peace.

I found Ricky to be an exceptional teacher, with a really good eye for making corrections. I had an MVA in 2012 that left me with chronic pain and so many muscle and joint issues that it has been difficult to even tell what the source of the pains were. I have been going for physiotherapy, osteopathy and massage regularly for more than a decade. These modalities help, but don't seem to resolve too much. I am very active with things like walking, biking, tai chi and Sheng Zhen, which also help keep me mobile and reduce pain. I've had a hip joint issue that has impaired certain movements that have persisted though this whole time. I've tried yoga before many times, but have found one pose to usually put stress and cause pain on another area, so this had not been an option for me, until Ricky.
Ricky taught some great breathing techniques that have helped me with my neck pain, surprisingly. I suspect these techniques are very beneficial for healing the whole body. In addition, he noticed right away the issue with my hip and did an adjustment and then showed me how to properly stretch that area. I've never had a teacher be so individually helpful, and even physio and Osteo were not as beneficial over all these years, for these two areas.
So, two areas that have been very painful and limiting have significantly improved, and I am hopeful that with continued practice I will continue to heal. But honestly, even the small amount I've been doing for less than three months has been a Godsend, and I am very grateful.

I refer to Ricky as my yoga guru. I cannot tell you how often I seek his guidance in how to be a better yoga instructor and student. From philosophy and the yoga sutras to how to work on shoulder mobility and achieve tittibhasana. Ricky is a wealth of knowledge in all things yoga. He has a passion for teaching and excels in that role. His love for the practice shines through in all that he does. He embodies the true sense of a teacher and leader. I don't believe there could ever be a time when I won’t be learning something from him and I hope I never find out.

Before I met Ricky in April 2022, I had been practicing yoga on and off as a student for 10+ years. I have always liked to dance (Modern Jazz, Salsa, Zumba…and party with friends) and when it was the time to make a choice it was (still is) all about YOGA because of its complete benefits for both the body and the mind!
There are so many qualifiers to describe Ricky’s mastery and dedication. From the simple definition of yoga and importance of the breath all the way to fluently read, talk Sanskrit and explain the yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Ricky found his purpose in genuinely sharing his passion. Among many qualities, Ricky has the talent to heal while feeling the vibrations, visualizing body needs and guiding you through deep meditations.
Extremely admirative, respectful, appreciative and gratified, Ricky will remain my light, my ‘guiding angel’. I have recently been able to make huge decisions that were holding me back, make daily changes with more regular and mindful practices as well as to find happiness again in my life. … breathing, being aware, being awake, following the flow and trusting the process, finding peace and compassion, learning to let go of any judgments and attachments.
As a summary, I am happy to share how much I have grown physically, emotionally and spiritually…
The road to happiness and freedom starts within ourselves by finding who we are (‘Who am I?’), making the right choices while focusing our energy only on what we can control.
These past 9 months have been a unique and very rich experience, I am extremely thankful for.
Finally, it is amazing how Ricky can be very serious when delivering his talks, providing deep explanations, creating or reciting indefinite quotes…or simply leading a class. Then suddenly be entertained by very funny (could even be positively silly) words and/or expressions. I absolutely love it!

A Decade of Transformation: Gratitude to Ricky, My Guiding Light
In 2013, I ventured into my first yoga class with Ricky. Although I had dabbled in yoga before, it was Ricky's class that truly spoke to my soul. Despite being a novice, I instantly felt the serenity and zen that yoga enthusiasts often raved about. Unfortunately, my 20-something-year-old self didn't commit to a consistent practice.
Life unfolded, and a few years later, while in college, I found myself gripped by severe panic attacks that forced me to drop out for a semester. Desperation led me to reluctantly consider an anti-anxiety medication. I wanted an alternative, and my mind wandered back to the moments of profound peace I had experienced during yoga practice. I reached out to Ricky, who graciously welcomed me for a private session. He not only introduced me to poses but also imparted breathwork techniques that could alleviate my debilitating anxiety. Astonishingly, it worked like magic, equipping me with tools for self-healing.
Over the years, I fell into a familiar pattern of emotional and spiritual ruts, but each time, Ricky was there to guide me back to a place of balance and positivity. Fast forward a decade to the age of 33, when Ricky mentioned a nine-month yoga continuous education program he was hosting. I had a litany of excuses, but Ricky gently nudged me to take the leap. This was the turning point that made me realize that yoga was not just a phase but an essential part of my life.
While I always knew this truth deep down, I had chosen to confront life's challenges my own way, only to circle back to yoga time and time again. Ricky has been an unwavering presence, helping me navigate life's challenges, fostering my healing, nurturing my personal growth, and encouraging me to see life through a positive lens. Through private sessions, group classes, workshops, and book clubs, Ricky has consistently displayed his profound caring, unwavering passion for his craft, professionalism, and his gentle yet firm guidance.
I am forever grateful for Ricky and consider myself immensely blessed to have him as a part of my life's journey. His influence has been nothing short of transformative. Ricky, you are my guiding light, and I thank you from the depths of my heart for everything you've done.

I've joined Ricky for two Sutra Studies, a 20-hour immersion and 9-hour immersion. What I appreciate about Ricky's approach to teaching the Sutras is that he balances teaching literal translations of the Sutras with how the Sutras can be applied to our lives today.
In addition, Ricky's knowledge of Sanskrit provides a great deal of context into the various ways some principles and teachings of yoga get taught in slightly different ways across various lineages and by different teachers.
In both immersions, Ricky finds a way to deconstruct the Sutras to digest in the moment and in a way that students can continue to study them on their own over time.

I so much appreciate a 9-hour conversational review of a translated ancient text, Yoga Sutra. I do not have the mind or life experience of a yogi from 2,223 years ago. To have this information provided in a way that I can comprehend makes it a strong possibility of application in my life. Somewhere in our 5th hour of study, Ricky shared that there "is no Creator in yoga. YOU are the Creator in yoga". My understanding of the entire practice became even more aligned with my faith in a Higher Power in that moment. My God truly is within me and ever present to guide me. I need only turn in Their direction....inward. This inward turn allows for an outward life of service. I truly came to clarity on my previous studies of the Sutras with Ricky's leadership. Knowledge is information known. Wisdom is information shared.
Thank you, Ricky, for your Wisdom!!

I have been practicing yoga for a little over 4 years now. Prior to those years I didn’t know or have had experience with the Ashtanga Yoga practice. After it being offered at my studio I’ve come to learn more about this particular style of Yoga, the way it rejuvenates my body inside out, and how it keeps me focused on breath. With anxiety & ADHD you can only understand what that could possibly mean for my mind and body! Ricky Tran's workshop exceeded my expectations and always shows me that I can continue to grow and transform within this class. Ricky’s guidance through the Ashtanga series is calm, purposeful, and challenging in terms of going deeper to explore what your body is capable. I recommend taking his class or workshops he offers!

In 2022 when I began preparing to have surgery for prostate cancer, one of my first thoughts was to contact Ricky and begin practicing yoga with him again. I didn’t know then that my thought of wanting to restart an asana practice to prepare for the physical disruption to the body that is caused by prostate cancer surgery would turn into so much more.
In addition to the physical practice, Ricky guided me into a mental, emotional, and spiritual practice that completely shifted my approach to the surgery.
We added pranayama to focus my mind and turn my focus inward. We learned new chants to relax and bring positive energy into my body, which I did even as I was being put under for the surgery. While not perfect, I made progress in letting go of attachment to the outcome of the surgery. The inward focus I developed gave me new ways of communicating with and being in touch with my body.
My rate of recovery from the surgery has surprised my doctor, and far exceeded the statistical norms. I fully attribute this remarkable outcome to the energetic and physical work I did with Ricky before, and continue to do after, the surgery. We are now studying Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and moving deeper into my spiritual practice. With Ricky’s continued guidance, I am excited to see where the journey of this lifetime takes me.

I have been practicing yoga for a few years and recently became a yoga instructor myself. I started practicing as a way to heal from years of hard work and hard drinking. I was in terrible shape physically mentally and, after some time, started getting better. My sobriety has been hand in hand with my yoga practice. Yoga has helped me with my fear and anxiety but still suffer from both and it comes into play in my practice when it comes to inversions. Even though I knew I was strong enough to do them, the vulnerable position of being upside-down would put me in panic mode. I still tried occasionally but I mostly just avoided it all together. Ricky came to the studio where I practice and teach for a multi-day workshop, and one of the days was inversions. Although terrified to show others my fear and how I react to it, I felt it was something I needed to do. I was blown away at Ricky's strength of mind and body and felt surprisingly safe in the space he created. He cultivated a wonderful workshop and in time I was upside-down! The tips and tricks as well as how he responded to me and the others allowed me to feel safe enough to do my best. I now practice inversions before and after each class I take or teach. He helped me so much to realize my potential and I can't wait to join him next time he's in town.

I have been teaching and practicing yoga for more than a decade now. I owe it all to Ricky Tran for motivating me and teaching me that my practice is not all about the asana (posture). He always said “Yoga should never hurt”. It does not matter what pose you do, it's all about how you get there and how you feel and breathe in the journey that is called: “Yoga”.
This testimony is not only about my journey, but also my husband Billy’s. For years now I tried to get him to practice yoga with me. I brought him to numerous workshops and classes and he enjoyed them but never got serious until last fall, when he announced to me he was going to enroll in a beginner series with Ricky.
Ever since that workshop, he has been getting up almost every morning. He turns on his music, rolls out his mat and practices at least 30 minutes. He can now easily touch his toes and he has no more back pain or hip pain.
We love you Ricky and know that what you have given us both will stay with us forever.

I was introduced to Ricky by a close, dear friend. He took me to meet Ricky because I was lost and broken. Not just my soul, but also my body. My jaw was sore from repressing my fears and not speaking my truth. My arm ached from giving more love and support to others than I gave to myself. And the memories attached to these physical pains only made them worse.
When I arrived I was in tears, but Ricky showed me compassion. He worked on my arm. He reminded me how important yoga is for my own well-being, a practice which I had abandoned while I put others before myself. Ricky’s loving smile, inner peace, and open heart inspired me to look within and face my fears. He helped me see that I had been giving my strength to others, rather than building up a strong foundation that others could lean on. He adjusted my back, released the pressure in my spine, and helped me to find my voice. Ricky taught me to focus on my breath, which is so simple and so powerful - yet so easy to forget when you’re focused on your mind.
Each morning, I’ve been saying the H’oponopono prayer and sun salutations that Ricky taught me. Starting my day off with love and self care has shown me how to make the biggest changes through the smallest actions. Yoga has reminded me how much I love myself, that I’m never really alone, and that I was never really lost or broken. I was in there the whole time?! Hello again, Erin! We’ve missed you!! Now let’s start taking good care of ourselves and have some fun.
Update: March 1, 2021
About two weeks after my initial visit I booked another session with Ricky. The pain in my arm had returned and it was once again consuming my mind. I was desperate to heal and finally let go, but realized that I was unable to do so on my own. Ricky walked me through the pain, and worked magic on my arm through massage and guided yoga movements. He taught me how to recognize the source of the physical pain and bring myself relief through acupressure, body position, and Prana. Through these techniques, I was able to find mental clarity and truly begin to heal. Ricky helped me recognize my potential, and the limitless power I have over my own mind and body. He is a joyful, inspirational teacher who is clearly guided by his intuition, rather a set of predefined rules or formulas. Ricky’s heart-felt, personalized experience is as unique as each of us are.

Ricky Tran is an exquisite teacher for the study of the yogic texts, Sanskrit, and asana. One can easily pick up in him a special energy, a graceful way of being, and an incredible dedication to the study of yoga as a complete mind and body philosophy. He has an unquestionable intensity and determination to elevate the spiritual discourse.
I was introduced to yoga through the study of the ancient texts. As such, I was taught asanas in direct relation to yoga philosophy. I am often underwhelmed by how diluted this ancient and incredibly profound practice has become in the west. I always seek out the very few teachers who can offer a complete practice methodology.
Ricky is exceptional! He is one of the few dedicated to spreading this practice as it was initially intended. He is also one of the most advanced practitioners of asana, and an outstanding meditation guide. Ricky brings incredible presence in his delivery of the Yoga Sutras. He has an outstanding knowledge of the ancient texts and has read exhaustively. He delivers his own interpretations with erudition, while remaining humble. Finally, his rendition of Nirvana’s “Smells like Teen Spirit” is worth mentioning !

When Ricky told me he thought he could help my shoulder with 30 minutes of yoga and stretching two times a week, I was skeptical. I had just been to my general practitioner and had been put on pain pills, anti inflammatories. She wanted X-rays and 1hour of physical therapy 3 days per week for 1 hour. I just started a new job and couldn’t put that time into it. Ricky showed me poses, stretches and physically worked on my shoulder for 1 month. I have been healed! It’s the craziest thing I have ever experienced. I would highly recommend you to try Ricky’s holistic approach. He is gentle, kind and a very gifted yoga teacher.

As a newcomer to yoga, I’m grateful that I met and have practiced (am practicing) with Ricky Tran.
As probably with many who journey to yoga, I originally tried yoga for the physical aspects (asanas) – the stretching, flexibility, getting into a new type of strength and conditioning. While I learn from and enjoy all of my different yoga teachers, I am most grateful for my teaching from Ricky.
Ricky is an exceptional practitioner and teacher of asanas. I took a Yoga 101 class with Ricky and learned more in those 4 weekly sessions than in all the months before. A solid foundation was laid for my practice – one starting with the importance of breath (pranayama). Once we laid the foundation for effective breathing, then we began to build on the proper technique for the asanas. Ricky consistently emphasizes the importance of non-harm (ahimsa) to self in the practice – if it hurts, you need to stop, make a change. This is learned through the proper fundamentals, philosophy and techniques of yoga.
But Ricky’s teaching goes well beyond just the breath and postures – his practice and teaching fully embraces and models the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga. The beauty is, he will meet you wherever you are, and will help guide you as far along the journey as you want to go.
I encourage everyone who wants to learn and grow in their Yoga practice to take a closer look at Ricky’s credentials and teaching – if possible, take classes with him in person – they’re fun, informative, inspiring and challenging. If you’re remote, access his online resources (unite.live/users/ricky-tran) – his instruction and classes are worth the low cost. And more importantly, reach out to him in person. He’s very personable.
Be well.
Namaste.

Be well.
Namaste.

Ricky Tran. Wow, just wow.
Where to begin? Ricky is no ordinary, run of the mill yoga teacher. He is a Master in every sense of the word. His immense, vast knowledge of all things Yoga is immediately apparent, and might be intimidating if it weren't for his humble and easy-going demeanor. He can teach you anything. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or if you have been practicing yoga for years. Ricky tailors his instruction to meet you where you are, with kindness and encouragement. I feel so lucky to only live an hour away from a teacher of his caliber. If I lived closer I would be in a class several times a week.
Ricky is definitely in the upper-echelon of modern day yoga teachers. His teaching style is very clear and concise. His easy sense of humor serves as a backdrop that creates a warm and welcoming energy for every student. Ricky is a walking example of what yoga really is, which is much more than just a bunch of poses. Make no mistake, Ricky can perform and teach any asana you can dream up. But more importantly he can teach and guide in the mastery of the mind.
If you have the chance to study with Ricky, don't pass it up. Fly, drive, run, walk or crawl... just get there.
You will be so happy you did!
Update - May 2021
Last September, I attended the very first Feel to Heal yoga retreat led by Ricky.
It was one of the most fun weekends I have ever had and I learned so much and took away nuggets that I still use today.
It was an exhilarating, refreshing, fun-filled time that flew by way too fast!!
Luckily Ricky holds these getaways 2 or 3 times a year so there is always more!! If you haven't been to one of these retreats, get on the mailing list and get signed up when the next one comes around!
I recently took a semi-private with a friend of mine with Ricky. We were blown away by his ability to zero in on specific areas of our individual practices. He especially helped me with keeping my focus by encouraging me to keep things simple and not overthink too much. And he gave us killer tips for one-legged standing poses which are a weakness for me. Ricky was so generous and kind to my friend that came in from out of state and she was beaming with joy after our session!
If you want to learn anything about yoga, literally anything... Ricky is more than equipped to teach you. But beyond that, he has a heart of gold, a servant's heart, and a salt-of-the-earth disposition.
Ricky is not only a rare teacher, he is a rare human being.
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to study under and get to know Ricky Tran. If you are reading this, give yourself that chance and schedule that private, attend that group class, or attend that next yoga retreat. You will be so happy you did!

I have taken multiple classes with Ricky and will continue to do so for a very simple reason , he teaches at a level very few teachers attain. He has an incredible depth and width of knowledge and can put it in the simplest of terms so you feel it in your body and your practice changes . He teaches what he practices because he has verified the techniques in his own body (it makes you feel better). He entertains, educates, and enlightens and because of that he enlivens the practice of Yoga.

I had two private sessions with Ricky and in two days my yoga practice was transformed. The transformation was in the details: Ricky unlocked my struggles and questions about basic poses and suddenly my vinyasa was aligned and flowed much more easily. I am a physician (surgeon) and I was impressed by his knowledge of anatomy and the precision of his adjustments. He tailored adjustments and stretches to accommodate my scoliosis and areas of my back that had never expanded or felt breath were opened. The work I experienced was simple yet powerful. We kept it simple with "bread and butter" poses but at the same time I was able to do poses I did not think possible! I would recommend taking any class from Ricky--his approach is so personal and he will not let you practice a pose in a harmful way. I strongly recommend a private class to anyone who wants to experience significant change and breakthrough in his or her practice.

Ricky Tran is a unique and gifted instructor. I met him at a David Williams workshop where he demonstrated the Ashtanga poses beautifully. His physical practice was inspiring and I wanted to learn more. I set up a two day private session with him where I attended his morning led Ashtanga practice and two other group sessions. Then, spent four hours over two days with him where his instruction was more individualized. This is where I saw the magic.
Ricky has a gift of seeing what is happening in the body. As a physical therapist I can vouch for his superb knowledge of anatomy and his awareness that everybody is put together differently. He uses this knowledge as he gives individualized verbal cues and hands on assist with the utmost intention. I love how he broke things down to specifically help me work on the areas where I am restricted. I went home with a prescription individualized for me to help me along the journey of my physical practice.
But Ricky does not only focus on the physical practice. He has a unique way of eloquantly interweaving the philosophies of yoga into the session. He also cued for breath control and quieting the mind. This heightened my awareness about what was happening in my body and it helped me realize that how I practice on the mat has a direct correlation to how I live off the mat. He inspired me to take my practice to a different level. I am not commited to balancing my physical practice with the study all the limbs of Ashtanga yoga.
Ricky is so genuine and open hearted. I feel like I have a new friend. I hope to cultivate this friendship as I continue along my yoga journey.

I learn something new every time I take a class or even just have a conversation with Ricky Tran; the knowledge he is sharing about the whole of yoga is invaluable to me as a practitioner and as a yoga instructor. I am LOVING being able to stream and attend his classes online since I am not close enough to attend in person. I recently took one that revolutionized my side crow practice all from my living room! The preparatory poses had my body ready for the peak pose and his cuing helped me troubleshoot my bad habits as well. As a yoga teacher all of these things have helped me enhance my own teaching and allowed me to bring great information to my own students.
I am loving that his classes are well rounded and include pranayama, meditation, chanting, and the bandhas along with the asanas (just to name a few) allowing me to expand my practice and learn beyond just the physical practice of yoga. Ricky is giving me the tools to take care of my body physically and mentally as well as become a better yoga teacher. If you have the chance to take a class with Ricky, online or in person, I highly recommend it. I have had the opportunity to take workshops and a master class with him in person and I can’t even begin to explain how invaluable that experience was. I will not forget the knowledge he was so eager to share or the experience he created during a chanting meditation. I’m grateful that our paths have crossed and I have the opportunity to learn from such an amazing teacher.

I’ve been practicing for over 10 years I’ve meet lots of yogis in my journey. Ricky’s passion and sweet soul is evident from the first moment I met him. In the first few minutes I spent with him, he was able to identify simple adjustments to my practice that did and will continue to transform my physical practice.
I’ve graduated from two well-known 200 hour teacher training programs and while I’m aware of the spiritual and meditative side of yoga, it’s not something I’ve felt like I understood. For me, it’s the harder side of the practice as it’s more than just putting your body into a pose but how you take the piece of the practice deeper and off the mat. I know that any conversation with him, I’ll walk away with a
deeper knowledge of yoga. If that weren’t enough, Ricky and I spent time working on the energetic locks, the bandhas. Ricky helped me to understand the bandhas clearly as this is something I’ve struggled with for years.
As a yoga teacher myself, I strive to continue to learn and deepen my practice. After meeting and spending time with Ricky, I felt like I gained additional clarity that will set me on a path to a clearer understanding of the entire yoga practice. I look forward to continuing to practice with Ricky and to soak up as much knowledge as
I can.

As a boxing & fitness instructor as well as athlete for my entire adult life, at age 50 I checked in to orthopedics to have a tight and painful hip along with a sudden and visible leg length discrepancy checked out only to be told that I had severe arthritis as well as missing cartilage at the left hip socket so that I was overnight a candidate for a hip replacement.
This was all news to me and bad news, especially given my livelihood. Told by therapists on a subsequent visit to strengthen the area to put off surgery for as long as possible, although the pain associated with my sudden predicament was initially minimal, that associated pain would steadily increase over the coming months and years to the point of having to rest quite a bit in between daily instructional sessions while I would have to resort to Advil regularly just to make it through an entire day.
Of course as a physical instructor I did some basic stretching myself as well as purchased an inversion board to try to correct my imbalance and reduce pain as much as possible, but it wasn’t nearly enough so that my freedom of movement was quite restricted while I still suffered with ongoing pain and discomfort.
Enter Ricky Tran who I met a few months ago by chance through my girlfriend Irene and things are looking up more than anticipated. Upon an initial consultation and assessment, Ricky had provided me some yoga stretches that I haven’t even begun to contemplate. Adding them to my daily regimen, not only did I get immediate pain relief, but at this point I have a much larger range of pain free motion so that I’m nothing but thankful. To top that off, since I’ve implemented the regimen Ricky Tran provided me, I haven’t had to take Advil at all which is a relief in and of itself.
In further assessing my situation, I came to the same conclusion as Mr. Tran did but didn’t know what to do about it except to try to avoid surgery, and that conclusion is that the small amount of missing cartilage at the hip socket didn’t account for the quite noticeable leg length discrepancy I have as my left foot protrudes well past my right foot when sitting in pike position.
In fact, both of my legs measure the same so that the discrepancy is not a discrepancy at all but rather a misalignment at the hips which the orthopedic surgeon wanting to do surgery didn’t even begin to address.
This is troubling because if I would opt for surgery they would just cut out a certain amount of bone to even out what appears to be a leg length disparity without addressing anatomically the hip misalignment. This misalignment is in all likelihood the main culprit as regards what is my current predicament and something by the way medical doctors don’t necessarily address, or at least my imbalance was not discussed during a surgical evaluation with my surgeon.
As a result, if I choose to have surgery without correcting my existing condition, then in all likelihood I would be subject to future problems and imbalances that would affect other parts of my body requiring further unnecessary surgical manipulations. How troubling that would be.
That said, I’m hopeful in getting with the latest and additional stretching regimen given me by Ricky that I can move over time towards rotating my hip back into place to avoid surgery altogether.
This is in fact along the lines of how my girlfriend Irene came to be acquainted with and then acquainted me with Mr. Tran as she was told she needed surgery on her knee when Ricky would step in to thwart that notion. Working with Irene over a period of time, the end result is that to this day she functions quite normally without having to have gone through a surgical procedure.
I can’t wait for the day I’m able to do a follow up review exclaiming that I was able to avoid a hip surgery by way of some simple yoga stretches given me by a well informed instructor who cares about his work and the people he interacts with.

I had the best yoga class of my life this morning. Ricky Tran's new studio in #206 is a very special space, and Ricky is a patient, observant and incredibly empathetic teacher. I've spent several years bouncing around yoga studios, and always felt dissatisfied by yoga classes that were about the way your body looked instead of the way your body felt. Moreover, I experienced back pain every time I lay down in corpse pose at the end of those classes. After just two days with Ricky, he noticed a tiny detail in the way I moved through a flow and suggested an adjustment. I immediately felt my back release and later enjoyed a deeply restful shavasana. Ricky has trained under some of the most important yoga teachers in the world. He comes from a lineage of teachers who teach true yoga. We are so lucky to have Ricky be part of our SSOL community!
Whether you're a beginner or have been practicing for some time, he has so much to teach you.
Thank you so much, Ricky!

My wife and I have been practicing yoga for about 12 years. We have been fairly consistent in our practice and have seen improvement through our dedication. We have attended numerous workshops with well known yoga instructors and have enjoyed and learned from them. However, after attending a 3-day workshop with Ricky in Houston, we will have to say that we have never experienced anyone who has motivated us as much to attain a higher level in our yogic journey. Ricky's non-intimidating style and knowledge would benefit anyone interested in exploring the benefits of yoga, whether they are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student.

Ricky Tran embodies what he teaches... lightness. In Ricky's workshops, I learned how to embody grace in everything from child's pose to handstand. Ricky masterfully teaches students the technique, theory, and most importantly, the spirit of yoga. The small time I spent learning from Ricky, has made huge shifts in both my physical and spiritual practice. I always look forward to Ricky's trips into town knowing that I will get to be in the presence of his humble wisdom and lighthearted playfulness. Thanks to Ricky for sharing his light!

Ricky Tran's workshop is amazing! He brings it all together with asana, bandhas, mantra, and pranayama so that meditation is effortless! He explains Nauli Kriya so perfectly that it's totally accessible to everyone. Rarely have I experienced such a swift and deep connection with a teacher. -Cat Albers

Ricky Tran’s workshop was an incredible experience for me, on every level. I really enjoyed hearing his insights about the practice of ashtanga yoga. His explanations about some of the different elements of yoga that had previously been somewhat mysterious to me, such as pranayama and bandhas, were so clear and well thought out. My practice truly has deepened as a result of the knowledge that I learned over the weekend. Ricky was also wonderful at transferring the philosophy of yoga into the practice of asana, and moving through his classes was a challenging and inspirational experience. I found myself able to focus more on the breath, let go of ego, and to truly be in the moment (at least for longer spans of time than before!). The sessions with Ricky helped remind me why I love to practice yoga, and I feel that I am approaching my practice with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Even weeks later, I find myself coming back to different points that he made in the workshop that resonated with me- for example, “The day that you feel least like going to the yoga studio is the day you need it the most”. So true! I am so thankful that I was able to participate, and I would love to work with Ricky Tran again, if we are fortunate enough to have him for another visit! -Jennifer Dalmas

Ricky's practice began to teach everyone how to own their personal practice. He is supremely inspiring and he's only too happy to share his experiences that benefit both teachers and students alike. We are glad to announce that we will be adding Ricky to our faculty for our 200hr and 500hr Yoga Trainings!

Practicing Yoga with Ricky Tran has taken my athletic career and personal growth to a whole new level. The benefits that can be taken from yoga with Ricky is not just greater flexibility and overall strength, but I believe the most incredible benefits are with the mind. One of the key components to the Heptathlon is being successful in keeping a calm mind (equanimity). Learning to not overreact to the good or bad, being able to keep a very stable mind to perform seven events in two days successfully. What separates Ricky from the rest, is his knowledge of how to train the mind and I believe that is the most crucial part of yoga and takes it to a whole different level and experience. Training many hours everyday for track and field takes a lot out of my mind and body and now practicing yoga completely rejuvenates me to bring my track training to a new height! I feel now working with Ricky is such an advantage to my training and I feel it is my little secret ingredient to success!!!!

Dear Ricky Tran,
It was an honor to attend your classes while you were here in Fort Lauderdale. Please allow me to point out a few of your qualities as yoga teacher that impressed me most.

Dear Ricky Tran,
It was an honor to attend your classes while you were here in Fort Lauderdale. Please allow me to point out a few of your qualities as yoga teacher that impressed me most.
- Your exceptional skills in presenting and teaching advanced yoga postures without losing their physio-anatomical and spiritual integrity, and transmitting them to your students.
- Your ability to explain Sanskrit words and phrases into English communicating their deeper meanings. To my comprehension of Sanskrit (I have studied Sanskrit in school from fifth grade onwards until I finished college), your attention to details in Sanskrit inflections is one of the most accurate that I have listened from a person who did not grow up surrounded by Sanskrit scholars. When you taught us from the Yoga Sutras about “Kleashas,” you explained “asmita” as something so different than ego, that it made me aware of the prospects of thinking without the word “I.”
- You showed me a different and equally wonderful side of Swami Krishnamacharya through his great disciple Yogi Srivatsa Ramaswami.
Thank you,
Surendran Pandaran (RYT 500)

I have occasionally thought about getting a private yoga session, but had never been inspired to do so, until going to an introduction to a weekend intensive with Ricky Tran. His sense of humor, and genuineness struck me first. His knowledge and experience was also apparent. I decided to take the opportunity to have a private lesson with him. The experience was much more then I expected. He gave me tools to take home that I could use to improve pain I had been experiencing in my back. He also "flew me," using therapeutic flying, which was fun and felt amazing! I have been going to a chiropractor for two months, experiencing some improvement, but what Ricky gave me, that I was not able to get from the chiropractor, were tools to take home. I came away with sound philosophy, movement, a way of thinking, and most importantly inspiration and confidence to carry through. Honestly, my mind, body and soul were nourished.
Thank you Ricky.

Ricky Tran is a yogi. He is a good person and I endorse and support.

David Williams is also the first and only Westerner to learn the entire Ashtanga system directly from K Pattabhi Jois. www.ashtangayogi.com |
I am 57 years old, I've been going to Ricky Tran Yoga for 3 months now. I have never done Yoga before, I did it just on suggestion from some folks that I was working with and I thought what the heck, and I have to say it has been a great experience. Ricky is an amazing teacher. The yoga is one of the hardest things I've ever done. But I've realized that even though I'm with people who can turn themselves into pretzels and I can barely fold over there is still something there for me. I can still do it to the top of my ability and that's what Ricky brings out - everyone's individual best. That's what he's looking for in each person.

Ricky is highly knowledgeable and strikes a true wonder and awe in anyone who is blessed to see him practicing yoga. Ricky is a uniquely talented and radiantly beautiful person. After reintroducing myself to YOGA in November 2010 I began searching for the perfect instructor...the ONE...Four months later and over a dozen instructors I found the ONE...Ricky Tran. After the first class I knew this was it...I found my YOGA home..His is truly a YOGA teacher not a pose model. His instruction takes me to my highest potential, not to mention releasing my lower back pain on the first visit. I love learning not only the YOGA action but also the meaning and history of YOGA..Thank you Ricky

Excellent.....You owe it to yourself to go once and try it out. Gain inspiration and clarity. He cares and he is authentic.
Attending your workshops this past weekend has changed the way I interpret the world and how my yoga practice was taken to another level.
I have gained a deep appreciation for the traditions of yoga from the long conversations we had in the car to the time we practiced on our mats. As, I grow in my practice, there have been wonderful teachers along the way that have helped guide and shape my understanding of yoga both physically and spiritually.
But one thing that stuck out this weekend from you was the philosophical side of yoga. It's not that you can do a handstand to crow pose but it's the prana that burns inside that is most important. Breath is yoga. And without it you are not doing yoga. You showed me how to love and be kind to my body. That it is easy to make things hard and hard to make things easy.
As a young Catholic growing up I always asked my teachers and parents the "how and why's?" something came about in the bible or everyday living. To help answer those questions I studied sciences in college because I wanted to know more about how life was created, however, I still lacked the spiritual side. Yoga has helped answer some of those questions and given me the ability to connect the dots of both science and faith.
Growing up I was a prisoner of unhappiness and addiction. I found refuge in drugs to help numb the pain and depression. Now older, I still had many questions. But, you helped me see that many things that we think makes us happy are just illusions. The "want" will forever make you a prisoner of unhappiness. Through the practice I hope to one day free my mind of materialism and create equilibrium with my spirit.
I am truly blessed to have had an opportunity to practice with you. Those three days listening and asking questions have changed my yoga practice forever.

p.s. I'm still laughing about what you said about individuals when asked about having ego they respond "what ego?" and you compared it to like a fish saying "what water?".

I heart Ricky Tran! He's challenges you physically and mentally and through his practice I've realized that anything is possible. I've also taken several of of workshops with the DFW area, in West Palm and South Beach. He is fantastic and I dare you to try just one class. It's like eating a Lay's potato chip.... you can't eat just one.
My personal experience was utter joy.
Ricky is a very down to earth Yogi and when he explains something it just makes sense. When you watch him demonstrate something you thought impossible you can see and understand how it IS possible. There were no tricks only tools no mystical solutions just "right knowledge". Ricky is a hard working yogi whom I have great respect for. Gillian St. Clair, Nashville, TN |
I had the pleasure and honor to work with Ricky Tran one on one for three days while he was in Florida . It was at a time when I had severely pulled back muscle. It was to the point I was almost unable to go from a standing position to lying on the floor. Through a series of amazing breathing exercises, a series of restorative poses, slowly my back began to relax and muscle release. It's hard to believe but in three days I was almost 100% back to normal. The pain was alleviated and my range of motion had returned. Ricky Tran has the lineage and knowledge to help anyone who wants to tune into some very powerful tools. Ricky is also a kind soul and a very good communicator. I will definitely work with Ricky again in the future.

I have been practicing yoga for 10 years and I've tried every yoga studio in Dallas. Ricky Tran is the best yoga instructor in the city. His pace is perfect in that allows you to focus on the deeper aspects of practice yet you still get a great workout. He makes adjustments and teaches you proper alignment which is something I always look for in an instructor. He helped me take my practice to a new level and I feel lucky each time I get to practice with Ricky.
If you are new to Yoga.. I urge you to GO TO RICKY'S CLASS FIRST before you try any other place. From him you will learn the TRUE essence of Yoga (not a watered down version). I've been to 5 or 6 different yoga classes around Dallas, and have never been exposed to such a deep and transformative style of Yoga as the one Ricky teaches - Ashtanga yoga.
He pushes his students hard b/c he truly cares; You can tell he truly wants his students to get better. At times he may seem harsh - but you will deeply benefit from his teaching style and genuine enthusiasm for this ancient practice.
I feel SO incredibly lucky to have crossed paths with Ricky, and had the privilege to learn from such a dedicated teacher.
Thanks!! :-)

April 2016
My back pain started on a regular afternoon at home. I started to get out of the recliner and the pain was quick and intense. It hurt to stand still, sit, be in bed, but walking was pain free after a few steps. I also immediately lost my ability to bend forward. Any type of forward crunching motion was gone, even child's pose was painful.
My doctor was unable to see me for two weeks, so I went to a chiropractor. The X-rays showed that my hip and ribs were hitting each other and my spine was out of alignment. After the initial chiro consultation I had to wait on my insurance & primary doctor to get their treatment started. My insurance wouldn't cover it because my primary Dr wouldn't release me to the chiropractor and he wanted me to take pills. So I left that Dr's office and didn't go back.
In the mean time I focused on my yoga practice. I had major hesitation to do anything and took it very slow. I had the urges to do uddiyana bandha & kriya, back bending and twisting, but I felt it would over do it too easily. This stage went on for a few weeks.
Then I met with Ricky to get his thoughts on the matter and he encouraged me to do lots more. During this time I could only give 40% effort in most of the classes, but during back bending, twisting, and in my breathing work I did 100% because these poses felt amazing.
During this time a 30 day challenge was about to begin and I signed up. I completed 34 classes in 30 days.
Each week I saw major improvement, but in my third week I hit a plateau and the pain wasn't getting worse, but it wasn't going away at the same rate either. In that week I was able to pin point the cause (poor sleeping positioning & bed type) and by the end of the 30 day challenge I was almost 100% pain free. If I don't maintain a regular practice I do start seeing some of the signs that pain could return.
Without a regular practice or Ricky's guidance I don't think I would have made it out of this injury, much less in only a months time frame. My Doctor wanted me on pills and rest, a chiropractor wanted me to visit them 30 minutes a day 4-6 times a week and those methods aren't for me.

Whoop Whooop. That is how I feel after a Practice with The Tran. I enjoy his singing and his stories. Some are inspirational and some are just funny. I enjoy being led in a practice and that is why I go to a class setting. Most yoga peeps can do a practice on their own but to be around a bunch of people in a warm (not just temp wise) environment w/ other people that enjoy it as much as you do...it is just wonderful. The blue mat brings awareness to my postures b.c it is way more of a challenge. I welcome being adjusted since I am all out of whack. I enjoy watching other people succeed. The Wed class is awesome...favorite of the week since you never know what you are walking into...but you will walk out with a sense of fulfillment. Seriously it is so hard for me to get up this early...so you know it must be worth it if this night owl is cruising down Keller Springs at 530am to enjoy a dog or two with Ricky.
I was in search of a yoga instructor around Dallas and somehow ended up at Ricky's door. His class was exactly what I was looking for. He introduced me to Ashtanga Yoga and helped me completely transform myself within the first 20 classes! Everyday I felt myself progressing rapidly under his instruction, he is an excellent teacher and extremely enthusiastic about the practice. He takes great care in staying true to original teachings and to the core of yoga which is what intrigued me and kept me returning. He not only teaches the physical practice but explains the theory and engages his students through discussion about the many benefits of yoga. I have gained so much from Ricky's classes, it has brought me not only physical strength and deeper connection with my body but mental clarity at a time I needed it most. I would highly recommend his classes and feel very lucky to have crossed paths with such a dedicated soul. I hope that others can benefit from his teachings as I have......
I heard the name Ricky Tran early in my yoga practice about 6 years ago. As I have progressed from being a student to becoming a yoga teacher myself I have had many teachers along my yoga journey. Lately, I have been seeking a new guide to help me along my path. Thankful to have found out that "the" Ricky Tran was right here in my very own neighborhood! I am grateful to his teachings of yoga and his wisdom of life. Ricky is a great inspiration and a wonderful teacher - I highly recommend him to the beginning yogi or the most practiced. Ricky will always send you away with the complete practice you need. Namaste, Rene' Hawthorne (The Lotus Chick)
I tried a Yoga class before, but did not enjoy it. I attended 10 classes in 8 months. I was introduced to Ricky in December, and was very interested in attending one of his classes. I was very lost as to what I was doing, but he is a very patient instructor:) Ricky is not only about learning and improving gradually physically, he teaches us to philosophies to take with us for our day. I am a very busy single mom, with little time to myself. I go to Ricky's morning class at ATA martial arts in Carrollton, TX. I am not a morning person, but I push myself to make to his 6 am class. I always know that at the end of class, I feel very awake, with a calm, positive attitude to begin my day. Work, school, and kids can be very stressful. One of my favorite sayings he has is "Yoga is learning to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations". That's soo true!! Whether you are bent in half physically, in rush hour traffic running late, or experiencing anxiety for a project or test, it's all about finding your center and knowing how to breathe through the situation. I am also someone who gets bored easily. Ricky is awesome about changing things up! He has enough repition to where I have learned how to do a mysore class over the last 3-4 months. However, he has made Wednesdays a fun toning class with music. Remember my 10 classes in 8 months? This last month (March) I acomplished a goal of 20 classes in 30 days!!:) I highly recomend him, he will help you improve both physically and mentally! :)
Ricky is a great teacher, patient, kind ,caring and so wise!
I really enjoy his classes,he takes me to the next level and always with a smile!
Thank you so much Ricky for introducing me to Ashtanga Yoga, I love it!!!!

AWESOME! AMAZING! INSPIRING! Are a few words I would describe Ricky Tran Yoga. I was so impressed with Ricky Tran after "trying" his first class, I signed up THAT day to have him as my yoga instructor. I had been shopping all around for a yoga studio since moving here and this was it. He is perfect for the beginner student to make sure they are practicing yoga in proper form so they do not to hurt themselves. And challenges the more advanced student so they do not become bored. His adjustments are great and once he does everything seems to fall into place and it feels right.
Ricky has classes that are led and some that are self paced but I must mention the Wednesday class. I think of Wednesday as my "new" favorite day of the week because of this class. I can't wait to see what he has waiting for us. It is never the same. Yes these classes are early but so worth it!! And this coming from a non-morning person. The room is warm but not extremely hot, if that isn't for you. The yoga studio is in with a martial arts studio, which I realized after my first practice there was a perfect place to practice yoga. For me, I have had the confidence to try new postures after being on those blue mats. You will be truly impressed with what you receive inside those doors. Ricky teaches the practice of yoga and not just the "poses" and there is a difference.

Ricky Tran Yoga is awesome. It is a very relaxed setting and a great place for newbies as well as advanced yogis. Ricky makes everyone feel comfortable and encourages you to do the best that YOU can do that day. If you're new and can't fully get into a pose, he'll offer adjustments and variations to make sure you get the most out of your practice. His knowledge of yoga is vast so that all levels will get something of practicing with him.
Ricky is also very good about reminding his students that the most important aspects of yoga are those you can't see. Ricky really makes you focus on your breath throughout the practice and that focus really pays dividends for you. There is no better feeling than how you feel at the end of one his classes. That feeling is what makes showing up early to class worth it. I think if anyone shows up to one of his classes they will be hooked! Ricky's class is 25 minutes away from my home and the opposite direction from where I work, but I enjoy his class so much that when I'm in town I go at least 3 days a week.
I enjoy both of the classes Ricky currently offers, the self paced class and the Wednesday class with music. They are different, but equally challenging.
I feel so fortunate to have such a unique and great teacher in this area!

I absolutely love Ricky Tran Yoga. He will capture your attention with his soft spoken ways and his amazing strength and grace will let you know what you are working towards. For me to grow in my practice, I need to trust the instructor knows the limits or potentials of my body and helps me to safely obtain those levels without fear, Ricky does just that, not only with me, but with everyone I see him teach. He makes you feel like you are the only one in the room. I have taken from quite a few instructors and no one is quite like Ricky. He is in a class all by himself with his raw style and music selection, you can actually feel his love of yoga by his in depth knowledge of yoga and the human body. I promise you, you will not be sorry if you take a class from Ricky Tran, from a first timer to an advanced yogi, you will walk away feeling like you want more. I promise you, try him, you will like him. :)
Ricky's classes are the most fun I've had in yoga in a long time!

The Essence of Yoga workshop with Ricky Tran was a very special experience for me. Throughout the weekend he continually brought me back to the source of Yoga and by the end I had remembered and surrendered to the beauty of all that is life and all that is Yoga. He is a humble Yogi with a beautiful, inspiring story to tell and a genuine interest in encouraging consistent Yoga practice for his students. I would take any opportunity to practice with him again and again.

I have taken a couple of Ricky's "Floating and Flying" workshops before, and thought I had a good idea of what to expect when I signed up for the 3-day "Essence of Yoga" workshop...was I wrong...! Ricky has so much knowledge to gift, and in addition to witnessing his unbelievable practice, the ability he has to impart yogic philosophy is remarkably concise and comprehensive - even in the short amount of time he had to present it. Because of this workshop, I have a renewed thirst for a deeper knowledge of that which is "yoga", and in addition to deepening my self study, I am anxious to revisit Ricky at any other of his workshops that I'm able. It was such a beautiful way to spend the weekend, and Ricky's style of delivery was just delightful. I look forward to more! Thanks Ricky!

Yoga Review: Ricky Tran, The Urban Yogi
November 2010
I just came back from a great yoga immersion with Ricky Tran at Stroga in Adams Morgan. Watching him suspend in midair, stand on is head and morph into a human lizard was incredible. But what I love about Ricky's style is his return to the yoga fundamentals- Breath, Asana and Meditation.
In an era of celebrity yoga instructors, overpriced classes and a largely upper class fitness trend, Ricky Tran is a refreshing breath of yogic air.
While grooving to hip hop beats, Ricky repeatedly spouted simple messages like,"Jesus practiced Bhakti Yoga through Devotion!", "Yoga should be fun!" and "Squeeze your anus." (mula banda). Basically to remind us of the fundamentals and the ultimate true goal of yoga- "To reduce suffering so that one can achieve true freedom."
Ricky Tran is one of the few self-described "Urban Yogis" that blends real life experience with the often difficult spiritual practice of yoga. Yoga needs more down to earth colorful yogis like Tran. He has the potential to reach get the word out to communities like Anacostia that yoga is for everyone and can drastically improve your mental, physical and spiritual and social well-being.

Dear Ricky - I am STILL positively struck by your November workshops here in DC. I have attended yoga classes of many styles, shapes and forms since 1993. Some feel right; others not. So I want to thank you. Although your Asana is quite advanced, you give alignment cues that enhance the individual's practice and keep students safe; you make anyone at a "lower" level feel 100% accepted and honored; and you joyously cheer on those who are going for the "higher" level shape. Thank you for keeping a Bhakti vibe through your entire class and not abandoning it (or us) for your own motives. Thank you for being an 8-Limb yogi...is there any other kind, really?
Much respect and love.

I have been practicing Ashtanga yoga for nearly 8 years, in that time I have learned and trained with the best of teachers, David Swenson, Melanie Fawer, and Manju Jois to name a few. I would add Ricky to the list of master teachers. His knowledge of the practice along with the original teachings has brought insight, freshness, and a renewed excitement for this system of yoga. He teaches with compassion and non-judgement. Assisting when needed and words of encouragement to keep the student motivated. He is quick to remind us, that yoga is about breathing and feeling good. About staying present and moving towards our authentic selves as we surrender the ego and move into a state of stillness during the powerful practice of Ashtanga yoga.

I am training to be a yoga instructor and when I heard Ricky Tran was coming to Houston I immediately signed up for the weekend immersion. It was such an honor and a blessing to hear his testimony and to witness the amazing things he can do with his mind, body, and breath. I felt like a sponge as I tried my best to soak all he had to offer!!! As a school teacher I was grateful to witness his wisdom as I have a passion for acquiring knowledge. I can not wait to take another workshop with Ricky!! He is truly amazing.

I liked how you began the flying class with your demo of sun salutations, teaching us that the advanced poses are rooted in the basics. I'm always amazed at how gravity gives you a holiday, Ricky.
I also really appreciated instruction in the pranayama and bandhas class because I haven't learned much about those topics yet. Pretty much all of my training this far in yoga (over ten years) has been related to asana or meditation, but you opened my mind to new information that is not as readily available in books or in classes.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us!

When my yogi friends asked if I wanted to sign up for one of Ricky Tran's weekend workshops, I said "sure" even though I had no idea who he is. When I looked at the workshop's descriptions and his pictures, I decided that we should take both workshops, not just one of them. Turn out that was a good idea, we enjoyed both workshops tremendously and all agreed that his workshops were the best among those that we have taken. We learned a lot of things in class... adjusting your poses so you can improve and move to the next level, doing them with a clear sets of mind of what you are trying to achieve, learning small secrets that help you get closer to nail down a posture...but most of all is the great yoga spirit that Ricky instilled in each one of us regardless of our levels and experiences. Not every great yogi is a great yoga instructor in my opinion, you have to truly believe in what you are teaching, live and practice what you preached, have compassion and have enlightened yourself in your yoga journey to be a true yoga instructor. I have not had that much experiences with the great yoga masters so it's only a limited observation but I believe Ricky is one of them for sure. It was an enlightened and wonderful experience and I hope to have many more chances to learn from Ricky.

I've practiced and studied yoga and meditation for more than 10 years. I've attended and taught yoga classes around the world and I can say without reserve that Ricky Tran is a world-class yoga instructor. I first met Ricky at two-day seminar. It was obvious that he knew what he was talking about, and there was plenty that I could learn from him. After two days, I couldn't get enough. So I signed up for a week-long seminar. During that week, my yoga and meditation practice improved by leaps and bounds. With his help and guidance, I was able to do poses that I never dreamed possible! His instruction has helped to open new vistas for both my personal practice and my teaching.

I took a leap of faith when I signed up for Ricky Tran’s 50 hour Transformational Training. I had never met Ricky before, but I had seen his incredible “Art of Floating and Flying” video on youtube. Taking his training has been one of my best decisions. Ricky is truly authentic yogi and a wonderfully compassionate teacher. He makes sure everyone feels included, no matter their level of practice. With his instruction I am now trying and achieving poses that I could not do before. And, I am learning about the true essence of yoga. My good friend (who is taking the training with me) and I agree this is the best training we have had. And, we want to continue to study with Ricky.

I had the pleasure of taking classes with Ricky Tran while he was teaching at Equinox in Dallas. However, recently I decided to treat myself to one of his two day workshops. This lovely weekend gift gave me the opportunity to see yoga from his deeper perspective and fill in some "yoga blanks" that I didn't realize existed for myself. At the end of the workshop, I felt fantastic and my energy level was expansive. I attribute my added awareness to Ricky's ability to create an easy learning environment coupled with a clear verbal approach to his teaching. I highly recommend Ricky for beginning students and advanced students in need of a review and a refreshing experience.

Ricky Tran is an awesome yogi and teacher. I went to one of Ricky’s beginner series in September 09, at the request of a friend, who wanted somebody to go with her. When I saw who was giving the class, and I read about him, my first thought was “OH NO”, he’s going to kick my butt in class. I was very intimated to walk through the door on that evening of the first class. But to my surprise and delight, Ricky was wonderful. Regardless of experience and body type, which on both accounts mine were not the best, Ricky made me and the rest of the class feel like we could succeed . I looked forward to each class even thought there were times that hour and a half was very long. I always ended up feeling great . Ricky took the time to work with me, giving me encouragement, and pointing out ways I could do better, while working with my own limitations. Ricky also had the patience to answer all my “newbie” questions. Since that first beginner series I have signed up for another series with Ricky and a workshop. Each time I have learned something new about yoga and about myself. He opened up a world to me that I didn’t know existed. If you ever have a chance to attend one of his classes or workshops , you will not walk away disappointed.

I first met Ricky in a class at Sacred Movement in Venice, CA. He was traveling around to practice with the great teachers outside of his hometown…and now he has become one. Fast forward 2 years…I recently got to take my first class with him during a trip of his back out to Los Angeles and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with him and his teaching. He is a very open and honest yogi and his surrender to the practice is immediately evident. If you ever get the chance to practice with him, run, don't walk, to wherever he is and absorb what he has to share.

I signed up for Ricky Tran's workshop looking to further my teaching skills. I have been teaching since 2008 and recently hit a stagnant point, a lull, that I wanted to get out of. I had been adjusting my students the same way in the same poses for a while now and wanted to learn something different, something that would add a new edge to my classes. I signed up for the Adjustments 101 & 102 workshops and it those two classes I learned so much! Who knew that you could adjust Down Dog in so many different ways? Ricky was always very attentive and stayed close to make sure every detail was correct. I never felt timid or scared to adjust with Ricky's watchful eye right there with us.
Although 6 hours may seem like a short time for two workshops, it has already made a significant difference in my classes. My students especially love the Shavasana adjustments and Thai massage that Ricky so graciously taught me. I've always loved adjusting students and now I'm able to take it a step further but being able to watch their bodies and notice what they need. Also, I actually was able to sign up a new private client due to my new extended knowledge! True story: Client saw me teaching a class through the class window and contacted me stating that my adjustments and hand's on care for my students led them to me. I'm extremely excited to be able to share my new knowledge with my student's and fellow yogi's. I am also thankful to Ricky Tran for spending the time and energy to pass his wisdom down to a new era of yogi's.

RICKY T GETS IT!!! Period. His in depth yoga knowledge and ability to teach on all levels are 2nd to none. This combined w/ his ability to verbalize and walk students through pose structure, what you should & shouldn't be feeling combined w/ his now infamous "Darth Vader" breathing exercise, make him a fav instructor from coast to coast. I recently followed him from my hometown Dallas to West Palm, FL where he was giving a workshop. All i can say is. . . time well spent. Look forward to expanding my knowledge/practice and attending future workshops.
Cheers.

Ricky Tran is amazing! He speaks and teaches from his heart.... he is gentle, buy persuasive... his knowledge is grounded and he doesn't mind saying, "I don't know". Only a true master can admit that he cannot possibley know it all when it comes to yoga. Today he said, "in order to teach yoga, you must be a yogi." I agree. Yoga is much more than asanas. He blends ancient knowledge with our western way of thinking and brings it all home...... so that we can apply it and pass it on... and that, is, as it should be. Yoga is a journey. Thanks Ricky....... I love your energy. I will definitely continue following you.....

This is the second workshop I've taken with Ricky and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was completely different from the first. Ricky's growth as a teacher is incredible, and he has developed his natural warmth and light into an ability to bring out the best in your practice without you even realizing how hard you are working. Ricky is challenging and fun. I'm extending a stay in Dallas over the summer just to make sure I get some 'Ricky-time". Ricky works to all levels with equal attention and ease. He is a great teacher for a yogi with 3 months or 30 years of practice. I'll be taking workshops with Ricky for many years to come!

I was very impressed with your yoga instruction (I had no idea you'd already been teaching for 5 hours!) From my perspective you have everything it takes. I am no yoga expert, but I have studied a lot of Buddhism, and it seems to me that the great teachers in all walks of life exhibit authority through compassion. I was aware of that the whole time you were teaching. There is no judgement on your part of students such as myself who are neophytes in the physical yoga realm. It is very refreshing to see someone as young as you who is enlightened, understanding, and humble about his place in the universe. I think it is a good thing that you travel with your gift, because where ever you go you leave desperately needed seeds of love and compassion and from my experience a seed of that kind is never wasted. It always sprouts - even if it takes lifetimes.
Much love and light to you on your journeys - I look forward to future yoga sessions with you.

I told my friend on the way to the workshop that I didn't expect to be able to do most of what Ricky taught. The pictures I saw were far more advanced than I am capable of at this point in my practice. But I did go in with the intention of learning as much as possible for future use. I was very excited after the Fri arm balance and inversion class. I immediately appreciated Ricky's depth of knowledge of yoga as well as the distance his own personal journey has taken him. But what was most exciting was the demonstration followed by instruction that benefited the beginner (her first workshop) through the intermediate (me) to the most advanced student (G). Not one person was left out. Ricky provided instruction that I have since brought back and utilized in my classes to help all levels of students. The Bhanda and breathing sessions were excellent. I have attended several workshops. Most address breathing, some talk about using bhandas but this was the first to provide extensive instruction and practice on them. Sunday was just as excellent. We practiced everything he had taught and took it to a deeper level and added more to the practice. The other thing that is noteworthy is the energy that Ricky brought. The majority of the group had been to a workshop a few weeks before. We were a group that came and left in separate directions. After the Ricky workshop we were friends. We laughed, talked, shared, became Facebook friends. We are attending each others classes and studios, we are sharing ideas and beliefs and so much more. That is HUGE! Ricky laughs, tells jokes, admits when something is hard even for him, adjusts, sings, demonstrates, answers questions, is patient and didn't forget us when he left. That is what workshops are about. That comes from the giving of self--the true self. Everyone agrees--"Yoga is FUN but Yoga is not EASY!"
Thank you Ricky.

The Nashville Yoga Crawl was a huge undertaking we had no idea if it was going to work. Not only did it work it, it sold out! Ricky had his hands full and it was a big responsibility to put on one teacher. If it was a test Ricky got an A+. He was so attentive and compassionate. With many levels of students no one was left behind and everyone that wanted a challenge was served!

Ricky is the best instructor that I have had in my five years of yoga. I have been members at several health clubs and have never experienced a class like his. His understanding and emphasis on breathing techniques with emphasis on the most basic poses is the first yoga class that gave me a cardio workout. His amazing techniques and abilities from one hand inversions to head stands make him a true yoga Jedi. I look forward to each and every class, knowing that my body will be taken to the next level.

"Ricky's class transformed my understanding of yoga. While I have had excellent teachers prior to Ricky, he took my practice to a new level by deepening my understanding of the the essence of the fundamentals. In doing this, he not only clarified my yoga practice, but these impacted my running, my work and even my personal patterns."
~Scott Granowski
I was very intimidated and apprehensive about beginning yoga. I felt as if I wouldn't know what to do or how to do the poses. Ricky squashed all those feelings within the first 5 minutes of his class. He guides you from start to finish while also helping you with small adjustments here and there. The classes themselves are very laid back with males/females of all ages and fitness levels. Ricky's yoga has helped me with my strength, balance, range of motion, and most importantly my breathing. I seriously look forward to the days that Ricky is teaching a class. He's Great!

Ricky is a very pationate yoga instructor that truly blends mind/soul with body and where the former leads the latter and not the other way around. His sessions have the simplicity of minimalistic architecture and design, where simple movements yield powerful results. It seems as though at every session he embarks in this personal challenge to make you both healthier and at peace. I started yoga because of back pain I had been fighting for the last 5 years. The pain is practically gone, Ricky sessions have made me stronger and I am happy to have become a yoga addict, I have found the endorphins, elasticity, strength and most importantly, peace of mind I was looking for.

Ricky came to me through a friend from Dallas. I live in California and only wish I could have met him earlier. I shared with him of my back issues. I had been in pain for almost the entirety of 2008. A recent MRI showed a protruding disk. The orthopedic surgeon recommended physical therapy with traction and pain meds (before going to a highly invasive surgery). That night I met Ricky, he came over and showed me some poses that would provide traction for my back and gently assisted with some stretching out the vertebrae. He then introduced me to Yin Yoga. That night, for the first time, I did not wake up with shooting pain down my back in the middle of the night. The next night too. He came again and went over a set of poses and introduced me to a new one that completely opened up my hear center and felt like a new person from that moment on. What a release! It all works together. I am now going to try yoga as my therapy and feel a confidence in it as a solution thanks to Ricky!! No back surgery for me!

After class yesterday I got very emotional. I really liked the let go breathing technique you taught me. As you know that is one of the areas in my life I have the most difficulty with, so I feel like it got into my bones.
After class I was able to let go of a fear I have had for the past 6 weeks and I had the courage to take action against it. And it worked and I called the person and told him what I was afraid of. I felt so much better that I could do that. I wasn't able to sleep at all last night, I don't know why. Maybe I was too excited about being able to let go in that situation.

I would describe Ricky's yoga style--for someone like me who is challenged by an intense practice within my own personal levels--as an empowering mind-body experience. By him, you will experience how breathing techniques lead the practise, calm the mind and allow you to go deeper into poses which can become effortless. Ricky's demonstration of biomechanically correct postures have led to openings that my mind and body now crave to master. Ricky Tran rates five-stars! His professional demeanor transmits trust, honor and respect as he genuinely helps others receive from a rewarding yoga practise. Will you see his name on yoga mats, instructional books or DVDs- definitely maybe! I'm just glad I have had the opportunity to practise with him while he's on the cusp of a dynamic future.

I have been practicing yoga regularly for 4 years. I have studied the body and the mind for 7 years professionally and personally. I have a vested interest in yoga, because I have chronic debilitating pain for up to a week each month during my cycle. I also have severe scoliosis that creates pain as well.
Depending on the day, my personal yoga practice ranges from being thankful that I showed up, to feeling strong and healthy. My intention with Ricky is to create a higher awareness about my body that could be contributing to my pain and feel some relief because of that awareness.
I have experienced 3 sessions with Ricky so far and I felt an instant peaceful connection with him. His confidence, professionalism, and passion for yoga is apparent. His enthusiasm compelled me to find strength within myself that I have never felt before. His intuitive direction and knowledge of the body brought out my confidence that I fully trusted his guidance, and began to just trust and "let go" of my control of what was keeping me stuck. His patience is felt throughout class, but his honesty gives you an edge to create a place of openness.
On my first session, I felt my pelvis release tension that I haven't felt since I had my twins 10 years ago. I felt my lower back become unlocked. It was enough to have enough faith after the first time, to cancel a surgery to correct my pain and try a natural approach. My second experience was even more powerful. I kind of knew what to expect and I set my intention for the class to give it my all and not waist either of our time. He focused on my rotation of scoliosis and focused a lot of heart opening positions. I felt open and free!
I have experienced in my own practice a sense of security in myself and I now have more self awareness that I didn't have before I worked with Ricky and for that it is priceless!

In just a few sessions you have brought me to a new level - a new awareness. I really appreciate your positive, yet grounded approach and the language and tone you use to get me focused.
One element of yoga that has been particularly significant to me is the fact that it is never over. You never arrive; it's ever evolving. With each pose, you helped me feel confident about where I was while showing me what lies ahead by drawing attention to the details of each pose. I feel like my yoga journey is just beginning, but I have already come so far. It's a pleasure practicing with you!

Ricky added a mental element that I had not taken the time to develop. In a few classes, I found proper alignment in many poses that I thought I was doing correctly. I learned how to breathe – beyond inhale and exhale. He used a dialog that helped me focus on practicing without judgment (of myself or others) and without expectations (of myself or others.) Each time I step on a mat, I have an opportunity to set an intention for my practice…and for the rest of the day.

Ricky has a beautiful practice! It was amazing to see him move in various ways and jump to and fro as light as a feather! His positive energy and and fun spirit made for a lovely aura in the yoga studio. I learned some new techniques for proper headstands, as well as tapping into the core which is essential for arm balancing. The time was too short though, we still needed to learn more! :)

Truly,

I was mesmerized by the strength and fluidity of Ricky's practice and was moved by his natural ability to easily share the details and techniques in his style. Spending time with him inspired me to find the foundation in my practice from where I can begin to learn to float and fly.

Taking private lessons with Ricky is truly a luxury to my overall well-being. Even my chiropractor can see the differences my yoga practice is making each week with Ricky's advanced instruction and intuitive body adjustments. I can't thank him enough for how my body is transforming on a weekly basis--just in time for my next birthday when you want to look and feel your best! I Honor You, Ricky!

Ricky is extremely knowledgeable and his ability to move your body into position and transform your poses is incredible. Your body and mind will feel unbelievably energized and at the same time, at ease. Ricky goes the extra mile to help you if you have additional needs or questions about your own body or a specific situation you are experiencing. If you have the opportunity, you will be so happy you tried Ricky's yoga session!"

Ricky, I loved the class today. I really enjoyed your teaching style - calm, peaceful, open, direct. I have done upward and downward dog in hundreds of yoga classes before, but never with the intention and position that we achieved today. I know that my body moved in a new way, and for that I am grateful. Looking forward to more classes with you!

Thanks Ricky!
